Well, seeing how the prices for the early 928s are beginning to climb (the best deal you can get right now on a 928 are the 80-82 models), I would expect that the 944 will begin appreciating in value in about 4 years... assuming that they don't end up like the 924 and stay bargain basement deals indefinitely (which I don't think they will).

Given enough time, even the 924 prices will start to climb (as they become rarer and good-condition models become more difficult to find).
