You should post this in the Off Topic forum and you would likely get friendlier responses. The OT forum is very active.

In any case, Honda brake pads are the easiest things in the world to replace...just one bolt and the caliper swings up so you can remove and replace them. That Honda dealer is smoking meth with that pricing. Pick up a Haynes manual at Pep Boys for the car...will definitely come in handy and is only $20 or less.
