Oh man was that ever a bad design. Most recips are opposed (like our porsches) for a reason. That particular Joy machine was plagued with vibration and crosshead issues. Ingfersol rand made a few models like that waaaay back, they stopped doing it for a reason.
Joy should have stuck to high speed cetrifugals.
