We had narrowed the search for my wife's new car to the Acura MDX or the ML 320 CDI - and were about to buy the MDX, when my wife spotted a Mazda CX 9 and decided she really liked the looks of it. So now we are driving the CX9 later today and the MDX is on hold.

I really, liked the way the MDX drove and handled - so I think yours had some sort of a glitch. It is fast and corners incredibly well. You have no sense of being in an SUV. And the interior is superb. The only almost deal-breaker for us was that incredibly ugly front end. What were these guys thinking?

So now, we'll look at the CX9 - and also check out the Volvo that Alf mentioned - which hadn't appeared on our radar screens at all.

BTW, where we are the dealers were discounting MSRP on the MDX by $4K. Seems like there are a lot of them around.
