Is the Goldtop LP you're looking at a Deluxe? The mini-humbucker is a nice pickup - a great contrast to the straight LP one.

No, it's not a Deluxe, it's a Standard. I always look for originality when buying a Les Paul (like when buying a 911)....There's someting about the STD Les Paul neck and fretboard that I like. I dont really like the slim necks that much...which some of the custom ones have.
anyway, I realize that a good original LP from the 70s is a good investment so I'm looking into getting one...the 69 model would cost about 30 grand so that's out of the question!
