A couple of days ago I bought a 6 pack of Guinness Ale, I felt it would go good with the steaks and twice baked potatoes I got from the market.
When I opened the first bottle and poured it out, I was sure I had a defective bottle. Something was rattling around inside after the pour.
I read the side and it only says there is a widget inside to help give that fresh from the tap taste.
So I am sitting a bar and grill this evening grabbing a bite to eat and notice they have Guinness on tap. You know what I ordered. I ask the bartender if he knows what is up with the widget. He says it releases nitrogen into the beer when you pop the top so it charges the beer the same way it come out of the tap.
So when I get home I pop a bottle with my ear next to the neck. He is right, right after I pop the top you hear the widget releasing the nitrogen into the beer. Very cool!!
Just thought I would share.
