My thought precisely.
Some people think that road signs (and rules) are just "suggestions." The signs (and rules) are usually in place for
very real safety reasons.
My brother's girlfriend was killed by a truck driver who thought a "rolling stop" at a stop sign was "good enough" -- he didn't realize that her approaching car was traveling at a speed where his mirror kept her blocked from his view as he approached the intersection. If he had come to a complete stop, like he was supposed to, a 17-year-old girl's life would not have been snuffed out prematurely.
