The problem is something that HD alluded to, and that is security. W98 is full of holes that someone can use to steal information from the computers files.
Microsoft has not supported it in YEARS and any flaw found in the OS has not been patched, as they have done and continue to do with W2000 and all newer OS.
Not only is it a very old and outdated operating system, its not safe. If you are using it to play games on and its never connected to the internet, then enjoy but if you have one iota of personal data stored there and its ever on the internet you might as well just give it all away.
