We just spent the past YEAR converting our offline (i.e., not real-time) DBs from SQLSvr2k to 2k5 because MSFT is ending support for 2k.

What a nightmare. Since we have to transact with Oracle and other DBs there was a lot going on...and all the differences (not improvements) from 2k to 2k5 kicked our asses.

Now when I need to write a query or build a DTS^H^H^HSSIS package the various interfaces are at least 5x slower than before.

Sometimes I think MSFT is in the pocket of the tech support union. That's the only possible explanation.
