well by knowing the application we have a better idea of what you are looking for and how to solve your problem.

your original question was vague on what you really needed to do, but turns out you were asking the right question just didn't know it at the time. we just wanted to make sure we had the question right.

if you had looked thru the whole radio shack site earlier, you would have found what it sounds like you needed in the first place, and is exactly like some of the first suggestions we gave you. so yes the extra info was helpfully and needed to get you to the solution.
