No no no no no..
The reverse V sign is ONLY the 'bird' in the UK.. not in Europe..they are as unimpressed by it as you in the US are...
Legend has it the 'V' sign originated with Henry V's Welsh longbow men during his wars in France.. They would taunt the French (so nothing new there) by showing them the two fingers used to draw the bow string bakc to fire the long bow. seeing as a the time the 'English' (actually the majority were Welsh) archers were the onyl users of long bows in Europe, they could do so out of range of the cross bows used by the French and their Swiss Mercenaries.
The punishment for captured longbow men was to have those very same fingers removed.
So this cornerman may have been German or not, but unless he was from the UK its unlikely it s deliberate 'F-U' to Hamilton, who afterall drives a Merc....
