Kinesis used to make a 993RS replica wheel called the "Supercup" which was a true 3-piece and available in 18" sizes. It looked very similar to the original, and I believe even had forged centers. AFIAK they have been out of production for quite a while, but you may get lucky and find a set on the used market if you keep your eyes open.
