I called CW and not only do they do free pre-qual but since I am an existing customer they do not charge loan origination fee. I am waiting for their rates.
I WILL get several quotes because I understand that they can just push this "fee" somewhere else....

All pre-quals are free or at least I would laugh at any loan officer who wanted to charge for one. Don't think CW is giving you a deal because they're not charging you for a pre-qual. And I wouldn't make much of the "no loan orig. fee". Lots of places advertise low or no closing costs. They just build it into your rate or call the fees something else. Believe me, you will pay for your loan origination one way or another. And most of the closing costs aren't controlled by the mort. co. anyway, but rather set by the state and county as a function of the loan amount or sales price.
