Hi David,

You've got the physics right but the weight equalizing hitch w/sway control takes care of all of that. While going in a straight line the length of the vehicle would never matter. It's turns and maneuvers that make the difference.

The truck I crashed with was a 14-foot box on a long bed frame. Some have proffed the theory that it was too much truck for the application. I haven't figured that one out yet.
