It really IS a dry heat. I moved from Atlanta and would take 105 degrees here over 85 with Atlanta's humidity any day.
Lots of days with no rain.
3-4 months of hell vs 8-9 months of paradise.
Deserts are cool... in a hot sort of way.
PCA does lots of track events. Firebird Raceway is 10 minutes from where I live.
Quite a few Pelicans here.
CUL8R's BBQ habit.
Lots of job opportunities in many fields.
Against:
Very, very small lots. The newer the home the smaller the lot.
Crime? It's a big city and will never be confused with Mayberry.
Lots of people come and go. For some living here is sort of a dream that dies once they move here. I've met several people who moved "back home" after a few years.
Real estate prices are off their peak, but still pretty high.
