Phoenix gets all the press. Tucson is just lying back and enjoying it. Yesterday the high was only 78 with light rain. Sure, we have a number of days of 100+, but rarely in the 110+ range. Even at that, it is only for a few hours every day in the afternoon. By morning it is back into the mid to high 70s and THAT is the time you do your outside chores. When the monsoons hit, the daily temps rarely go above 95 and the lows in the low 80s high 70s. To escape the heat, we have the Catalina Mountains with the hamlet of Summerhaven within a 35 minute drive or we can head south (yes, I said South) to Bisbee and other towns at the 4,000+ level which are 10 to 20 drgrees cooler that Tucson. (we are at the 2,600 foot level)

Phoenix? LIved there off and on for three years. Not a place I would have considered founding a City.
