Your fan is suppose to turn on at the red arrow mark and turn off at the blue arrow mark etc.....
I also have an 84 944na and mine use to go up into the solid yellow before my fan kicked on, notice I said fan, The only time my second one comes on is when the ac is turned on.-- back to my story--> well it ended up being my temp thermo switch that turns the fan on at a certain temp and turns it off at a certain temp. I got a lower temp one and it works fine now.
