Seriously though, good info and thanks. I have it in my head that as I play more I will hurt less, but I also know that it's very easy to over do it. Even more easy when you really enjoy the activity (I played 5 sets yesterday).

Not significantly. As long as the interval between each session is long enough for the pain to go away completely and the problem does not get worse each time it is probably OK to keep it up - with or without Ibuprofen.

Please note, I got into this discussion on account of the use of Ibuprofen, which I think is perfectly alright to use intermittently as long as you do not have any issues with your stomach. The actual knee problem is orthopedic and as such out of my expertise. Well, in all fairness, I should probably avoid any medical statements at all regarding adults..
