Mid to high 60s for HR's just don't happen, and 70 is historically absurd. Except for during that 4 year period, when 3 suddenly massively huge guys consistently did it. Then it suddenly stopped, just as quickly as it started.

I agree wholeheartedly with you pwd72s...it is/was a game of statistics for me when I was in my youth. I distinctly remember listening to Hank chase the record back in '74, on crappy long distance radio broadcasts. Hence, THE's post simply tells it all from a statistical perspective imo... I could care less about Bonds, or baseball anymore.
