A puppy going in her "crate" during the first few months is much like a baby going in their diapers... it's no big deal. I've always "crate trained" my dogs (puppies), and within 3-4 months, they've got enough bladder control so they avoid going in their crate completely, and I've always had them totally housebroken (and trained), and out of their crate by the time they are 6 months old. Yep, it's a few months of effort, but you don't have to "unlearn" behaviors that some older dogs have already acquired. Just another perspective, but adopting is great advice too !
