The $1200 quote for the timing belt, front main seal, and front ball joints sounds low but if you have it writing then you are covered. I have an 89 turbo and I enjoy it very much but I have to agree with bscpanther comments about keeping the car. These cars are all about passion and you will most likely put way more money into the car than you will ever get out, but, most hobbies are that way. If you know that going in and you can do some of the work yourself, the experience will be much more pleasant. Good luck with the search.
