Aw damn. Now that just plain broke my heart to see that.
So many weekends with my Dad, Mom and sisters at Riverside. Seeing Donohue in the 917 hit just that right apex point exiting 6, then the little jump sideways when he got on it. Seeing Follmer get run up the banking in the esses by one of the NASCAR guys during one of the first IROC races in the candycolor 911s. Back window flew up and away like a kite!
Culmination was taking my 912 there for a PCA session in 1976. I still have the little souvenir stuckum on the glove box door.
