it sounds like you've made a good decision. rush to buy/sell isn't always the best way. as for the clutch engaging 'high' that's not true. every 951 i've owned had the clutch engaging just before the halfway mark so it's obvious this one was in need of a clutch replacement ($$$).

i'm curious who ended up buying it.

you're correct though, spending more up front saves you from spending a lot more later on. just make sure it comes with all recent documentation.
