Tom,

If you are very careful. take one pad out at a time, and pump the pedal slowly ... until the pistons contacts the rotor. Put a folded shop towel under each 'bare' piston after you take the pad out, and don't put much pedal pressure on the system while trying this extraction method. An assistant would help, so you can 'watch' the pistons! Then remove the calipers, and the pistons will be mostly ready to come out for cleaning.
