Well Rick you leave near me so you know... we had fighters running patrol around DC for weeks. Never heard anything about Cheney sending fighters to the Arctic though. That sounds like BS; he can't do it on a whim and why would he? NORAD would have met any threat from up there and were there one they would have scrambled the fighters according to procedure- it would not take a Presidential or Vice Presidential order.
I lost three workmates (one was a friend) in the Pentagon explosion. Other workmates were at the other end of the building and heard nothing. I would have been there but had changed jobs two weeks prior. My cousin would have been on the Pentagon plane but took an earlier flight- spent a few days in Kansas. My wife also lost a friend on the Pentagon plane.
I have no doubt a plane hit that building. Too many people I know and trust actually saw it.
