We went through this a couple of years ago. We used an estate attorney recommended by our State Farm agent. After reviewing our situation he suggested we set up a living revocable trust. Total cost was $1500 including the trust, wills, advanced directives, etc. The attorney came to our house and talked to us for about an hour before it cost us a penny.
