They'll have to go with a higher production model. The new 4 door will probably help, but I wonder if rumors of the affordable hatchback sports car are true? A cheaper, "back to basics", modern 944 could be a real hit.

I'm sure this announcement will draw the inevitable crap, but I just don't understand. Porsche has continued to build some of the greatest sports cars on earth. If they had the chance, everyone here would turn over their SC or Carrera for a new 997 GT3. Hell, 90% of you would probably trade for a Cayman. The way I see it, I would love to have a Porsche option to choose from. If I'm buying an expensive SUV, I could consider the Cayanne, the fastest and best handling SUV on the market. If I'm considering a sedan, I could consider the Panamera, soon to be one of the fastest and best handling sedans on the planet.

What the hell is the problem? They haven't dilluted their sports cars, they have infused that spirit into other markets. I see that as a good thing.
