That question had very little to do with geography, in fact, it sounded like it was worded by a dumb blonde. IN fact, I think the question was dumber than the answer, theres a saying, ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.
For example, in the end, it says "Why is this", with a VERY ambiguous "this", why is it a recent poll? Why did they find this statistic, why is this statistic true? It leaves what I'm trying to find out about the statement prior VERY unclear.
Then, notice it mentions the people group polled as American, and the country they had to find as the United States. There are two American continents, and the country it is asked in is named after America. By referring to the geographical area by a country name, it inclines me to believe that the people group mentioned comprises the American continents, not the country of the United States. Or it could be the other way around...with the people group being those of the United States, even then, its ambiguous about what age range was polled, or even if the poll was localized. (For example, 80% of American's in South Carolina)
I would of done terrible with this question to.
