i just moved to Belgium, and in the process of importing and registring my 944S
they asked me where the engine number is located
now i found the type number, exhaust side, near firewall
and that says 44 JD
which is a number i can't find anywhere in the workshop manual ( lists 944S as M44.44 )
the engine serial itself, should be located around the oil filler pipe, near the clutch and next to the speed sensors , towards the passenger side
but it's impossible to see anything because the inlet parts block the view
this is what i see, but it doesn't really look like a regular 944 engine serial
anybody has any ideas about the M44 JD number??
or about how to best see the engine number on a 944S ??
