Gun Control Fans Won't Like This
Buyers no longer need to go to sheriff to get a $10 permit.
It didn't take long for Liliana Owen to realize Tuesday would be a very good day for handgun sales.
The co-owner of Doc Holliday's General Store in Ozark said she arrived at work to find three people waiting at the door.
"We have a house full of people right now,"*she said at midafternoon.*"Everybody was waiting for today."

Business boomed at many Ozarks' area gun stores because buyers no longer needed a $10 sheriff's purchase permit to buy handguns. Missouri lawmakers dropped that requirement earlier this year.
Springfield Police spokesman Grant Story said it's not likely the new law will benefit criminals.
"Often the people we have problems with are ones that acquire guns illegally,"*Story said.*"They're not going to follow gun laws to begin with. Those who take the time to fill out those forms and get a background check know that gun can be traced back to them."
