FWIW, I will be replacing the cap and rotor on my car this evening in preparation for an AX event on Saturday. At the same time, I will test and inspect the rest of the high voltage part of the ignition system. These high voltage signals are so persnickity that every effort to maintain them seems to yield improved engine performance. High voltage signals REALLY REALLY are anxious to go to ground. They might choose any one of several paths, only one of which is correct (jumping the spark plug gap). Just a helpful observation. I am certain that my car will run better by the time I go to bed this evening. Also FWIW, I use the stock Bosch system. I like it best.
