Btw, Gary (CG inventor) had the big retailer (GolfSmith) jones'n for his product a early on. (As did other finalist, I expect) So really, all the inventors made out great. Lot's a free publicity, as well as deals with resellers and mfg's.
The other great thing about this competition is that it motivated a whole lot of guys to
'make it happen.' Gary, I know had this idea 3+ years ago. Yet it wasn't until the judges (Stina - the "Simon" of the group) was wow'd, that he really got going again. He resurfaced at our design studio just a couple months ago, where we refined his product, as much as he would let us.
I'm really liking these inventor shows. It's great to see more focus on innovative hardware, in this sea of new mediocre software. Maybe these shows will motivate some kids to think beyond video games.
