LOL, they'll never be able to efficently store hydrogen for fueling a car.
If they could make an efficient hydrogen=generating system for on-demand use it would be much safer, but they con't be able to do that efficienty. Maybe when gasoline gets to $20 a gallon the hydrogens cars might be worth it but not until then.

These same asshats sold us down the river with ethanol.
They first started pitching it to the country and some of us said no way, it's a rip off.
The lefties drowned us out with their shouts of green, green, green.
We now they are finally admitting that ethanol is not the answer. It takes almost as much energy to make ethanol as it produces. And...... drum roll ...... it produces more greenhouse gasses than gasoline so the al gore wackos had to give it up. Not to metion that it is a cause of increased inflation. Seems that corn is used in most food products in one way or the other. Corn syrip, corn startch, corn meal for feeding beef, pork, and chicken. All these products are going up in price due to the increase in corn prices, because of ethanol. If you only knew what all the real costs of ethanol are you would be glad to pay $3.50 a gallon for gas.
