7R cases surfaced in the middle of 1972. I have never seen an 2.7 RS engine that was originally built with anything other than a 7R case. They can be found on any (not all ) engine models from mid 72 on. I have even seen 72 "T"s with original 7R cases.

Porsche was a very small company back then and when they had a new part they threw it out on the line and it could have ended up anywhere.


BTW: $100K for that car is just stupid and we know there are stupid people out there.
