Crazy.

Even if he did "get his ***** back", aren't there still millions in uncollected civil awards by the Goldmans out there? Even after whatever the book is supposed to make? Couldn't they just forcibly seize those assets and sell them again (or does FL prevent that too?)

I have to agree with Wayne - LV cops have probably the toughest job of any force in the nation - given the amount of money in that town, the number of transients and scumbags and scam artists, not to mention drunks, it's no wonder they don't just flip out and go postal more often than not.

I'm out in Vegas semi-regularly for work (we do several projects out there, plus my company has a satellite office there and my boss owns property there). Last time I was out there I saw an (inattentive) pizza delivery guy in a POS Toyota flat-out slam into somone stopped at a red light. In Vegas, this actually happens a lot (lots of big, wide, straight, multi-lane roads, so people "zone out" and then see the red light at the last second - or don't see it). Anyway the guy wasn't wearing a seat belt so his face cracked the windshield and was bleeding and stuff. Okay, but cut up. Cops showed up and started yelling at the guy for being so stupid. AND made him sweep up the street with a borrowed broom from a gas station next door. Then wrote him a ticket.

Not to mention Vegas is probably one of the most obvious terrorist targets for radical religious nutcases wanting to return the world to 7th century piety. So there's lots of REAL criminal threats there - no wonder the cops there seem a bit "on edge" all the time. Plus you have to be out in the 120-degree heat all day.
