I took karate as a kid and hated beating people up. Then I wrestled in high school and still hated it..

Caught a plastic soda bottle in the back of the head a few years ago. I think - "Man think quick." I turn around and walk back to the crowd of young black toughs in front of the bodega and say "So who is the stupid motherfu*ker throwing things at a police sargent". The crowd just melted away.. I had to laugh. Then I went home and called the real police.
