[Dan in Pasadena]

A buddy and I were JUST talking at lunch about what a ripoff funerals are in general. I intend to be cremated and before I get closer to that far off day (I hope) I will investigate the least expensive way for my children to do that.

YMMV, but that "thing" after I am dead, isn't "me". It isn't "Dad", "Dan, or "Grandpa". Its the case I used to come in. I don't want ANYONE seeing my body after I am dead. I don't want THAT to be their last memory of me. Anyone else feel this way?

Spend the minimum possible on a funeral. Have a party with a big picture of me doing somethingtypically stupid and laugh at all the dumb things I said, did or opinions I offered. To me,THAT is the way to leave this place making a slight positive impact as you go out the door.
