Saturday the 22nd....Cindy & I having a dinner in a sports bar in Corvallis Oregon. Home town of the Oregon State University Beavers. Cindy had the baked cod, me trying the prime rib special.
Posters all over the walls, celebrating the Beavers, a couple of special posters on the baseball team's back to back national championships.
Noting this, I ask the waitress if she ever heard of Jacoby Ellsbury. Nope, she hadn't. I offered to up the tip if she'd go in the bar area, ask anybody if they knew who Jacoby Ellsbury was. She did this.
Nobody in the bar had ever heard of Jacoby Ellsbury. None of the staff or customers.
Oh well...he's known in Boston, right?
