Hard to know just what a fair value would be. But I'd rather look at fundamentals:
BMW never made a bike as beautiful as the R1100S.
If there's another Guggenheim bike show or any coffee-table book on the most luscious bikes, the R1100S will be in it. It will always stand as a marker of the motorcycle art for its day and be collected by sophisticated bikers.
I think it is special. Few BMW bikes have needed as little fixing-up during their run as the S. The Factory got it right the first time.
That's my opinion.
