my numbers are 6'2"and 230lbs.with 36"waist at 41 years. i used to powerlift for years and only recently quit competing due to joint issues catching up with me. most i weighed was 270 briefly with a 40"waist. i don't train folks anymore, but did for a while. i actually have a professional strength coaching certification, more used to working with team athletes. however, i'd think that a regular regimen of brisk walking (even to the buffet if you start from home and it takes a half hour or so each direction)

would be great for your heart and turning up your metabolism. getting started is always the hardest part..helps to find a fellow partner in crime to walk/talk with. anyway, good for you..shaving off 6" from your waist is a great thing. you're a big man. are you shooting for 40" at the waist? seems like it wouldn't be that far outa line for your size. maybe shoot for 250-260 as a weight. i had a guy a little smaller than you start at 270 and get down to 230 by just brisk walking on the beach a half hour a day. he felt loads better..and enjoyed the time for meditation.
