Your right about everywhere having plus and minus people. But even the rift between the northern and southern part of the state is very evident. Heck, I didn't realize the severity of the Giants/Dodgers and Rams/49ers rivalry until I visited the bay area in my mid-20's.
Also, there is a disproportionate amount of arrogant comments from Frisco commenters that just love to throw out an insult to start this whole thing over and over again. I very rarely see SoCal folks start throwing the barbs. As for the gay insults, your right, no excuse for that.
It does get a little old. Frisco is great but it ain't heaven.

Funny that you mid-western guys get all riled up when people stereotype you as a bunch of rednecks but as soon as someone stereotypes all San Franciscans as gay you jump on board.
I have traveled all over the states and my personal experience is that every state has its share of a-holes and kind intelligent people.
