I would agree that there are jerks everywhere, but the percentage of condescending pseudo intellectuals to decent, polite people is much higher in SF than it is Oklahoma City(or whatever small midwestern town you care to name.)
I will say it again. People jump on this because the lefties in the bay area have done similar things countless times. Making the firemen take the American flag off their fire trucks because it might offend some as an emblem of opression is another nice example, honestly that happened, could not make it up. Well I suppose I could, but there are dozens, nay hundreds of examples of similar nonsense that happen often.
