Nope, just register and you can do everything except, post in members only, post for sale and buying ads, and upload pictures directly to the site, you can easily link them though from many free hosting sources after you make something like 5 or 10 posts.
You do have to register for a lot of stuff like searching to work, but you can also search using google.
