I just did this.
You can install the old hard drive in your new computer along side the new one.
It will become drive f:
You will have access to all your files without doing any copying.
Or you can move over the files you want to keep to the new drive ( c: ) and have more available space in your old drive.
You may need to go into the BIOS configuration at startup to set the drive boot sequence.
The new computer will have an IDE plug on the mother board ready to accept your old drive, ribbon and all.
