I was last there in the late 80's. God that place was filthy and smelled horrible. I truly could not understand why anyone in their right mind would WANT to live there. If what some of you are saying is true, sounds like it got cleaned up a bunch......Still couldn't stand living in any big city, but that is just me. I've been there half a dozen times before and after Sept 11, 2001. It is clean, if you mean there isn't trash blowing down the street, it isn't clean if you mean can I smell urine on every corner and there are several layers of greasy grime covering streets, buildings and sidewalks.
