I also don't understand the pricing on these wheels, who uses them? I abondoned mine when the tires became obsolete. They're useless. Even those with RSR clones don't use 15" wheels. The only use, I would think, would be museum cars.
I'm thinking of mounting my 9s on the garage wall and using them as an air hose reel.

I agree there probably isn't a huge market for them, but there still are guys who are going to want them to run on their RSR or RSR clone, and are willing to pay relatively big bucks for them.
You may want to sell your RSR wheels, buy a hose reel, and keep the (substantial) change!
