I'm a compassionate person, but I'm not seeing the problem here. It was certainly a very unfortunate incident, very unfortunate, but there are probably a 100 different ways it could have gone, and in 75 of them either the woman, the cops, or innocent bystanders could have been injured or killed.
I read the article, and ready what you posted. What you posted reminds me of the sensation stuff that I see or read in the news that is from someone trying to put a spin on things.
I'd rate your view as unreasonable and one-sided.
