A LOT of emotion on this subject..merited, I agree, A tragedy, a woman, wife, mother died. But from everything I've read, she DID pitch a fit and did NOT respond to requests to calm down. She was not tazed and was not sprayed. Sounds a lot like a psychotic episode or something. No question a true tragedy BUT I don't think the police did anyrthing "wrong" per se.

I am not usually a defender of police. I have seen too many too-much-testosterone jackasses with badges incidents to defend them all. But from the available information, it sounds like they acted responsibly and this just went south from beginning to end. Is there NEVER a circumstance when a wigged-out person dies that it is NOT the fault of the police? People do die you know? And its not always "bad" people in fully understandable circumstances. If it turns out there is another aspect to the police behavior I will be the first one to say they should be dealt with as criminals....but this one looks like a simple, regrettable, tragic accidental death at this time.
