If it does pop closed, I never realized the intake valve's opening and closing movements are smooth and the exhaust valve opened like the intake valve, but popped closed much faster. I understand that this footage is slowed down considerably.

I really think the video is clipped. You never see the piston come to TDC on the exhaust stroke at all.
