You can get your public (external, on the intarweb) IP by going to http://checkip.dyndns.org while connected thru your home connection. If you need to know what it is when you aren't home, or want to be able to have your domain, you can get a free subdomain from dyndns.org and just use that wherever. Most home routers have a dyndns client built into them.
